The three-year project dreijahre Gastraumprojekt was a space between art and everyday life, which took place from 2007-2010 in Bremen. The book is not a documentary in the traditional sense, but rather a continuation of the project as a book – an art book and discourse reader. The basic questions of how and why an ordinary place can function as art, are taken up in nine different texts. The essays, which are related to the different levels of the project, such as taste, atmosphere, space, social issues, economy, are interwoven with images from the project. The book includes a booklet with original recipes from the dreijahre kitchen. The graphic design has been done by the wonderful Berlin duo of BANK Graphic Design Today. The result is a beautiful book object that plays by papers, format and by the tint of the paper and the printing color picking up the color scheme of no longer existing dreijahre.
